Park of Herne
For even more outdoor exercise, the city park of Herne is a great place to go on long runs.
Its exercise trail will definitely get your blood pumping.
Established in 2013, it is one of the most modern of its kind. The trail consists of five modules that are best completed in the following order: warm-up, coordination, strength, endurance and agility. Those who exercise for leisure should also spend 15 minutes jogging around the park to warm up before starting on the trail.
The jumping field and the hoop run are great for coordination training. In the strength area, you have equipment for pull-ups, push-ups, squats, leg presses and a stair climber. To train endurance, athletes spend at least 30 minutes jogging at a suitable speed. Don’t forget to stretch before and after your workout. Each station has illustrated signs explaining the individual exercises. The difficulty ratings are colour-coded.
